INSTRUCTION MANUAL

(REVISED 03/03/03)

The dual mode ultrasonic cleaner is designed to clean electrical parts, jewelry, small circuit boards, glass, and ceramic. It is simple to use with a dual-mode (30w & 50w) power level switch.   It is perfect for small home and workshop applications, where small items need to be thoroughly cleaned.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR OPERATION

ATTENTION: The Ultrasonic Cleaner uses water and conductive cleaners in close proximity to 110v household current. To ensure safety, always make sure the unit is connected to a grounded outlet, and all operations are performed with the proper care and caution during any cleaning procedure.

CLEANING AGENTS: While distilled water is the most common liquid used in Ultrasonic cleaning, a large variety of cleaning agents may be used safely in this type of unit. Recommended cleaners include:

Ø      Ø      Distilled Water

Ø      Ø      HFE cleaners for circuit boards and electrical parts

Ø      Ø      Citranox – Enzyme Active powdered detergent

Ø      Ø      821 Ultrasonic Cleaner (MG Chemicals/www.web-tronics.com)

Ø      Ø      Low foaming Phosphate Free Detergent

Ø      Ø      Jewelry cleaners recommended for ultrasonic cleaning

Ø      Ø      Any cleaner recommended for Ultrasonic Cleaning

NOTE: Please keep in mind that an ultrasonic cleaner stimulates the liquid within the cleaning tank and produces some heat. A cleaning agent that foams or produces suds of any kind will overflow from the tank and cause a spill. To avoid this, use cleaning agents that are low foaming. In addition, avoid any caustic (phosphate or acid) cleaners that would damage the tank or the item to be cleaned. Flammable liquids should not be used for any reason with this equipment.

TO CLEAN AN ITEM

Ø      Ø      Make sure the unit is off.

Ø      Ø      Place the item in the tank.

Ø      Ø      Cover the item with distilled water or cleaning solution.

Ø      Ø      Do not overfill the tank.

Ø      Ø      Turn the unit on.

Ø      Ø      Select the 30v or 50v cleaning range.

Ø      Ø      Allow time for the unit to function.

Initially, monitor the item and the cleaning progress to ensure proper operation and avoid spills. Once you are satisfied the unit and the solution is working, establish a timetable for checking the unit and the contents.

Please remember that some items may take longer than others to clean. You may also need to add fluid to the tank from time to time. In addition, some items may need to be removed, gently scrubbed and returned to the solution for more sonic action.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS:

ü      ü      Do not disassemble or dismantle the cleaner. It is a high voltage unit and should not be tampered with in any way.

ü      ü      This unit should never be used near pacemakers or equipment sensitive to high-intensity ultra-sound waves.

ü      ü      The unit does generate some heat due to operation. This is normal.

ü      ü      If the tank or unit needs cleaning, always un-plug the unit from its power source prior to performing any maintenance.

ü      ü      Do not use the unit without fluid in the cleaning tank.

ü      ü      While this unit is sealed, it is not waterproof, and normal precautions have to be observed.
