$47.3 Billion is the total state government budget for this year(2008). The often-used $28.2 billion “budget” figure is only a fraction. There are actually a total of four categories of the complete budget: Statutory Budgeted Spending, NON-Budgeted Spending, Capital Spending, and Expendable Trust Spending. 9 Reasons Your Neighbors Need You to Vote YES to End the Income Tax
1. Ending the income tax will give back $3,700 average, each to 3,400,000 Massachusetts workers and taxpayers. Not just once. Every year. Many of your neighbors will get the biggest pay hike they’ve seen in 5 or 10 years. 2. It will take $12.5 billion out of the hands of Big Government and put it back into the hands of the men and women who earned it. This 27% cut in the state budget will leave politicians on Beacon Hill with $35 billion to spend every year - more than enough to provide essential government services, It will leave city and town governments with an additional $22 billion every year. City, town and the state government politicians of Massachusetts will still spend $16,700 per taxpayer every year, even after we end the income tax. 3. Ending the income tax will create hundreds of thousands of new jobs in Massachusetts. 4. It will force the state legislature to streamline and cut government waste. 5. It will force the state legislature to get rid of failed, flawed Big Government programs that don’t work and that make things worse. Or that can be done cheaper and more effectively by businesses, individuals and private charity. 6. Ending the income tax will make the legislature accountable to workers and taxpayers – instead of government employees, lobbyists and special interests who profit from high government spending. 7. It will allow Massachusetts to become a magnet to productive businesses and individuals. More good jobs. 8. It will help millions of families to pay for the high cost of gas, food, and heating oil and to pay off credit cards, school loans, and other debt. It will save thousands of families from home foreclosure and bankruptcy. 9. By making the Massachusetts tax burden more affordable, more of our young people will be able to stay in Massachusetts near their family, friends, and homes.
"41% Waste" in Massachusetts State Government SpendingSurvey reveals that voters see massive waste of taxpayer dollars

"On average, MA voters estimate that the state government wastes 41 cents out of every dollar in state taxes that they pay. Even voters who think the state is headed in the right direction feel that more than one-third of their tax dollars are being wasted." RESPONSE: From All Voters: $0.41 of every dollar is wasted by government
From Voters who believe that the state is heading in the Right Direction: $0.35 of every dollar is wasted by government

Historic Faneuil Hall in downtown Boston revived its legacy as the "Cradle of Liberty" last Saturday when over 511 supporters of Question 1 rallied to END the Income Tax.
Michael Graham, Talk Host for WTKK 96.9 FM, brought down the house as he lampooned Massachusetts Big Government tax & spend bureaucrats. A lineup of 9 other speakers, including several candidates who support Question 1, enlightened attendees with their diverse perspectives and insights into Massachusetts state and local government.
We thank all our distinguished speakers and especially our supporters for coming out on a beautiful Saturday to experience history in the making. Special thanks to Citizens for Limited Taxation, event organizer Bob French, Alvin Anders, Nina Haskins, Garrett Quinn, Kamal Jain, Evan Rooney and many others who made the rally a success.

Our goal is to reach and persuade 1,600,000 voters to vote “YES” to END the State Income Tax. While our opponents will spend millions of advertising dollars urging and scaring people to vote "no", paying more than $10 for each "no" vote -- you and we can lock in the FIRST 1,000,000 "Yes" votes for just 4.4 cents a vote. We're buying and distributing yard signs and bumper stickers now. We need to put 10,000 yard signs up as soon as we can. And get 10,000 bumper stickers in the hands of our supporters. We need to build our advertising budget. We need $150,000 now to get it rolling. Will you help? Many thanks to those who donated and helped so far to END the Income Tax! Our opposition will spend millions of dollars to try to defeat us. The good news is we have the winning message: No More Income Tax! But we need funds now.
