There has to be more to this story. Why would this man face criminal charges if the two were trying to breaking into his home? What happened to self defense?

I want to know why a state senator was paying off a convicted criminal & former cliet during his jail sentence.

NC laws say that his action was definitely a big no-no. Grand Jury will have to press for a trial, and this guy should not have acted in such a fasion as the NC gun laws state.

Bye-bye: You should have known the law if you owned a handgun, or a rifle/shotgun in the state you lived in.

Two men, accompanied by one of the men's girlfriend, kick down the door of a 75-year-old man's house. He shoots one of them in the leg, but still gets indicted by a grand jury. Has to be more to the story.

From the initial story, though, it seems like the Senator was within his own home and fired his gun to protect himself. I think that's a legit excuse (if those are the facts that eventually come out).

Well, it looks like he didn't run this time, either--heh, heh.

Don't defend Soles. He is an NC politician, so he is corrupt by definition. It does not matter which party he belongs to.

For those who didn't bother going to one of the links above, the person who was shot (one of the Senator's legal clients) said they were NOT trying to kick the door down, but were in fact leaving the property when they were shot.

Obviously, the facts are in dispute, which the story above fails to mention.
