There recently was a death of a 98 year old lady named Irena.
During WWII, Irena, got permission to work in the Warsaw Ghetto, as a
Plumbing/Sewer specialist.
She had an ulterior motive…
She KNEW what the Nazi’s plans were for the Jews, (being German). Irena smuggled infants out in the bottom of her tool box she carried, and she carried in the back of her truck a Burlap sack, (for larger kids).
She also had a dog in the back, that she trained to bark when the Nazi
soldiers let her in, and out of the ghetto. The soldiers of course wanted nothing to do with the dog, and the barking covered the kids/infants noises.
During her time and course of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and
save 2500 kids/infants. She was caught, and the Nazi’s broke both her legs, and arms, and beat her severely.
Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out, and kept them in a glass jar, buried under a tree in her back yard.
After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived it, and reunited the family. Most of course had been gassed. Those kids she helped got placed into foster family homes, or adopted.
Last year Irena was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize…
SHE LOST.
Al Gore won, for doing a slide show on Global Warming.
Even the most worthless of human beings (Al Gore) can win the “prize.”
Proves it is no longer much of an honor. Irena far and away outstrips
what he has done (has he actually done anything good in his life?).
*This was recently sent to me and I felt it was worth posting.
Life in a Jar: The Irena Sendler Project

Frankly, Irena Sendler deserved more than the Nobel Peace Prize. I agree that Al Gore should not have won it. She should have won, even though that prize would not have been enough honor and thanks for such a humanitarian like her. There were 181 nominees for the peace prize that year, and I think politics got in the way. Shame on them.
However, I think that article is not very well written if they think Al Gore is the most worthless of human beings. I agree that he is a smug individual. But the most worthless? I think that there are plenty of more deserving people for that designation (to name just a few; Hitler, Stalin, Tojo, Zedong, Lenin, Chamberlain, Heydrich, Saddam Hussein, and in my opinion, G.W. Bush if you are counting living people). Al Gore may be a smug jerk, but I don’t think he is the most worthless human being. Oh, and global warming, even though his presentation of the problem is not deserving of a Nobel prize, is very valid.
Even though the above paragraph was just a rant, it does not change the fact that the 2007 Nobel Peace prize should have gone to Irena Sendler.
Ditto what Patrick said.
Well, I disagree with parts of what you said Patrick. I do believe that Al Gore is a worthless human being. I would also like to add that I think he is one of the biggest sniveler whine baby I’ve ever seen in public. Global warming is NOT valid in the way that he has presented it.
I only said he was not the MOST worthless human being, which is what the above post said. Getting the message out about global warming is not worthless, though it’s not worth a Nobel Peace Prize. He is smug, though there are people worse than him as well. Bill O’Reilly and Rush Limbaugh being just two smug individuals I can think of…
Science has shown overwhelmingly that global warming is a reality, regardless of the way Al Gore presents it. Only a few scientists have said their research proves otherwise.
How absolutely and totally tragic– this dear woman was FAR more deserving of such an honor.
If Al Gore was a real man, he’d have declined the honor and given if to her– and I’m dead serious. He shouldn’t have accepted it. (Assuming that he knew her story and of her nomination)
But since he’s always been a power and glory hungry schmuck– what else should we have expected?
One thing is for sure– Irena’s sacrifice and noble heart have been noted in Heaven.
She’ll have the blessings of God– worth far more than the recognition of the world.
I agree with Tracy. She totally wrote what I was thinking.
God will reward Irena.
Al is getting all of his glory here on earth. (Well, glory from some people, I don’t know of any personally) LOL He just irritates me.
Love you girl!
Heather
“I only said he was not the MOST worthless human being”
“Even the most worthless of human beings (Al Gore)”
A person can be a worthless human being without being in the high ranks of the filth that you mentioned Patrick.
I do believe there is a difference in how it was worded.
But hey, if you want to tit for tat I can go there with you.
Hi Heather!!
Happy Anniversary!! Hope you and Chris are having a good week!!

PS Tracy hit it for me too. She racked up the highest honor a person can achieve and is reaping the reward right now in Heaven.
I can’t force Al Gore to give up the Nobel prize. I agree with everyone here that he should not have won, and I do think he should have been a better man and give it up to Irena or someone else more deserving. Irena Sendler deserved better.
Al Gore is a smug, pompous person. Regardless of that, I think he has a message that people should listen to. It’s not worth awards, though. Humans, even though it may not be the exact way Gore describes, are a cause of global warming.
All you right wing hypocrites are sickos.
Please be sure and tell us how you really feel…
