When this former geologist turned-pub owner became mayor of Denver in 2003, citizens gained a fresh new approach to governing and a climate hero in the making.
Right off the bat, Mayor Hickenlooper was way ahead on climate action. He set a 20-year sustainability plan in motion; signed his city up for the U.S. Mayors Climate Protection Agreement; and has positioned the Denver economy to be on course to becoming one of the fastest growing climate friendly marketplaces in the world.
