Detached houses virtually “illegal” under global warming laws

The state of California has declared war on detached family homes, with laws passed to mitigate car use and carbon dioxide emissions now leading to policies that mandate up to 30 homes be built on a single acre of land, fulfilling the goal of climate change alarmists to pack people into densely populated prison cities.
“Metropolitan area governments are adopting plans that would require most new housing to be built at 20 or more to the acre, which is at least five times the traditional quarter acre per house. State and regional planners also seek to radically restructure urban areas, forcing much of the new hyperdensity development into narrowly confined corridors,” reports the Wall Street Journal.
In some areas of Los Angeles County and five other Southern California counties, 30 housing units per acre are being mandated, all under the auspices of laws passed in the name of cutting car use and limiting CO2 emissions, including the 2006 Global Warming Solutions Act and the 2008 Sustainable Communities and Climate Protection Act.
The rules on restricted development are driving up house prices and driving down standards of living. Even if you believe the justification of lowering greenhouse gases, the regulations won’t even achieve that, with greater traffic congestion merely confined to overpopulated cities as additional houses continue to use cars.
Transportation consultant Wendell Cox told the WSJ that the whole process represented an effort to make the construction of detached houses “illegal”.
This is all part of the United Nations’ Agenda 21 project which demands that member nations adopt “sustainable development” policies that are little more than a disguise for the reintroduction of neo-feudalism and only serve to reduce living standards and quality of life.
The true motivation behind this agenda was recently unveiled at the ‘Planet Under Pressure’ conference in London, during which climate change alarmists presented their blueprint for humans to be packed into denser cities (eco-gulags?) so that the rest of the planet can be surrendered to mother nature. It’s a similar idea to the nightmare ‘Planned-Opolis’ proposal put out by the Forum for the Future organization last year, in which human activity will be tightly regulated by a dictatorial technocracy in the name of saving the planet, with cars for personal use banned and only accessible to members of the elite.
The mindset of this gaggle of arrogant, scoffing elitists in their drive to micro-manage the human race, which they regard as a plague on the earth, was best encapsulated by the following quote from ‘Planet Under Pressure’ attendee and Yale University professor Karen Seto.
“We certainly don’t want them (humans) strolling about the entire countryside. We want them to save land for nature by living closely [together],” Seto told MSNBC.
Also making an appearance at the conference was none other than Professor Kari Norgaard, who published a paper calling for global warming skeptics to be “treated” for having a mental disorder, likening them to racists.
Despite academic establishments Norgaard is involved with hastily rushing to delete and alter information concerning her paper and biography, a letter Norgaard wrote to President Obama soon emerged in which she urged Obama to suspend democracy and push through dictatorial climate change mandates by executive fiat.
That process is already well underway in California.

Maybe we should send all of the eugenicsts to California and pack ‘em in like sardines just off the coast. Isn’t Alcatraz available?

The caller schooled you on that yesterday.
Oh I get it, Kari Norgaard was playing with Sim City back in the 90′s and she decided she came up with the purrrfect urban model. She ceaselessly played with Sim City until it drove her insane. I have news for these crazy Californians and other insano Pacific Coast types, one acre of land per home is NOTHING and you know it. There are people that have homes on 60 acres of woods and free space. This is their view of the future: put everyone so close to each other that when a person takes a dump the person next door has to close the window. People are so close they literally is NO NEIGHBORHOOD, IT IS MORE LIKE A COLLECTIVE.
I have seen many of these new developments. My first comment to a friend was, “Why are they building ghettos with no decent set backs when there is plenty of free space available? Needless to say, these developments are largely still FOR SALE OR LEASE. Who would want to live that closely to other people? Fortunately I grew up in a semi rural suburb with land so large it would almost rival a football field.
What did with do with the land? Play football, baseball, frisbee, swim in the pool and we became extemely good at maintaining lawns and trees. I think it is unhealthy to live that close to other people. If you are very psychic you can pick up on their vibes. Quick, get out the Himalayan Salt to ward off evil spirits.
Wells I agree with you. Why would peoples pay many thousands of dollars or millions to have no trees and greenspace? Why must all cut down every tree to build a house on land. The peoples who literally rape the land of plants and trees are the ones who make sure there is less oxygen to breath!
Where I live one must own at least an acre of land to build a house!
The senselessness of always having to rape the land to construct housing is ludicrous!
The global elite have much greenspace and trees!
People in large cities have rooftop greenhouses!
They don’t want you to GROW YOUR OWN FOOD and ENJOY the food independence = food sovereignty!
Having an apple-tree, vegis… kill their profit and they can not sell you their poisoned food.
Natural food… is not for slaves.
We all let this happen!
No we didn’t. Somethings are out of the hands of the individual. There are some of us here trying to fix the problem. It will get resolved in time.
Peace
…they keep squeezin’ and sqqqquuueeezin our freedom, til we all go POP !
-they won’t like it much !
(…who thinks of all this shit anyway ?)
I need to move back to the east coast! Los angeles is going under quick!
“I suggest U clear out of Amerimcuk! There’s plenty of room in the rest of the world without all their stinking problems!
“– Without a toilet & no where to escape the stink describes Amerika today!”
…go suck on jasus’s asshole, tuuurdbreath.
I always wondered why Jesus said not to cast your pearls before swine, lest they turn to rend you! Now I understand! Do you Blindidiot! Always picking a fight with Jesus in me… Are you going to Heaven of Hell? Your choice!
Mindless said he was satan on another post ecrinueman! He can have the same fate as satan if he chooses!
This has nothing to do with “Save The Planet”. Urban sprawl can no longer continue with the price of gas going to $10.00/gallon because of the collapse of the petrodollar. Efficient transportation systems and more densely populated subdivions will have to be the norm.
Or we could just produce our own oil and gas and drive the price down to $0.80/gallon.
Yeah, because that is going to solve the problem. Battle got any evidence that would support that claim? Or is just a wild guess. Because gas is not going to get cheaper. World economy doesnt work like that.
Got any evidence to back your claim? Or is the way the world economy works just your wild guess?
If the US drilled it’s own oil reserves, it would become the world’s third largest oil producer.
h*t*t*p://economics.about.com/cs/macroeconomics/a/run_out_of_oil.htm
I’ve read a bunch of places that Montana has quite a bit:
mtpioneer.com/archive-July-oil-reserves.htm
“America has plenty of oil, much of it right here in Montana. How many times have you heard that? Yet it’s true. Gov. Brian Schweitzer puts the reserves beneath the state at 40 billion barrels, an impressive number compared to the country’s proven reserves that total 21 billion barrels, which excludes those yet to be counted in Montana and North Dakota. Adding North Dakota and Canada’s oil, part of the same formation under Montana, the numbers get much bigger, and Schweitzer’s estimate is low compared to those of experts in the field.”
Amerika is never satisfied till their little Jewish teen Israel is satisfied, and they are never satisfied saying it’s enough! That’s what defines their greed Sarah!
Alaska is full of oil. That’s why we bought it from the Soviets.
Peace

Better yet, allow technology to be implemented that no longer requires petrochemicals. Then people can live as they wish and not be so subject to political pandering 1/2 the world away. But why do that when the elite can continue to get rich at the cost to our freedoms?
now you are thinking. Our society’s energy demands only will go up. Not innovating new ways to meet them is only going to hold us back.
You are right about one thing – this has nothing to do with “Saving The Planet.” And it has nothing to do with what the “norm” will have to be in the future. If it were that simple, then the basic economic rules would create the very situation necessary to sustain itself. In other words, if people can’t afford to commute because gasoline is $20/gal, then they will figure out how to live where they need to live. The urban sprawl was a product of prosperity of a middle class. Removal of that sprawl will be a product of the loss of that prosperity and the loss of a middle class. We sure as hell don’t need laws telling us that we have to put 30 homes on an acre of land. I mean, DAMN! If I want to live like that, I will move to New York. This has to do with one thing. ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT.
California government: the premier model of horrible ideas
I look forward to California dropping into the Ocean…………..Problem solved!
Goodbye and fuck-off Arnold Swartzenegger, George Clooney and Bran Pitt !
You know, I have to agree. Marxists, Mexicans, & Hollyweird Divas. Let ‘em slip into the ocean.
The United States’ has about 6% development of it’s land mass. Yup….we need to shave that down to about 1.2%
Awesome to bring that up tyre3d
You’re absolutely right. But it doesn’t stop there. Existing cities prohibit the construction of new roads under the guise of “carbon” (gag). Then they blame the congested streets on “too many residents” and houses being clustered. They don’t expand cities because they claim it will ruin the wild and then again with the carbon card.
I used to live in the LA county but then moved to the San Bernardino County. To and from, there’s soooooooooooooooooooo much land between that remains untouched, undeveloped and some of the cities I pass by have houses that are so scattered, you wouldn’t believe it was an actual city.
Where I live now, the houses are so scattered, we have to visit our old hometown to trick or treat during halloween.
Interestingly, I hear India faces what we face in the US, but a lot worse. 70-something% untouched wild lands out of 30% super super super compact cities.
As a teenager back in the 70′s in Queens, NY I used to occasionally party with this guy Jimmy (James Wunderman). Apparently, he is now one of the leading forces behind sustainable development in the San Francisco Bay area. To think I shared a doobie with a freaking traitor to humanity. Ya never know how people will turn out I guess.
someone who thinks rampant consumerism is a traitor? wow.
What does rampant consumerism have to do with herding people into tiny, controllable prison cities? Because that is the ultimate goal. In case you haven’t noticed, the elite are control freaks and are shredding the Bill of Rights. If my former party buddy doesn’t understand the full import of what he is doing, he is certainly being bought off by people above him who do know the real agenda. This is all a part of Agenda 21, herding the population into prison cities and giving the use of the majority of our land over to the elites, in the name of protecting the environment.
…well they don’t litter cigarette butts, and Mcky D’s bags everywhere…
Okay !, let’s eliminate the two polar opposite ends of society, leaving just the middle !
No, they just ruin whole ecosystems in the name of progress (i.e., profits and hegemony).
As for leaving the middle, I have no comeback for that.
