How to Identify Ithaca Parallel/Serial Interface Printers
Note: Ithaca/Transact uses a wide variety of different serial and parallel shaped interfaces making it difficult in some cases to identify if you are replacing a parallel or serial version of a printer.
If replacing a Series 150, 610, 280, POSJet1000 or POSJet1500 printer look at the guildlines below:
- Look at the bottom of the printer and note the model number. The last letter either P (Parallel) or S (Serial) designates the interface.

- Count the number of pins.
- Serial can have 9 male pins or 25 female pinholes:
- 9 Male Pin Serial
-
25 Pin Female Serial

- Parallel can also have 25 female pinholes or the more standardadized Centronics 36 pin female connector.
- 36 Female Pins for Centronics Parallel

- 25 Pin Female Parallel
