Frequently Asked Questions
1. Why am I not able to login even though my user name and password are correct?
a. Check that you do not have CAPS LOCK on. Your password is case sensitive and must be entered in the exact combination of CAPITAL and small letters as when you first registered. If you can't remember that combination, click on I FORGOT MY PASSWORD at the login window and follow the steps to receive a new password. Don't worry you can always change the new password later by clicking on UPDATE MY INFO at the login window.
2. I am a first time user to the site. Which link do I click to log in?
a. If you're a first time user you need to click on MY FIRST ADOPTION on the COME IN AND PLAY window. You will be guided through the process of registering and adopting a Webkinz pet.
3. Can I register new pets in addition to the one I already have? Is there a limit to how many I can have?
a. You can register as many pets as you want. Click I'M A MEMBER at the Come in and Play window, login and choose ADOPT A NEW PET.
4. My pet is hungry. Where can I get some food and how do I feed him/her?
a. Food can be bought at the W Shop, accessed through the THINGS TO DO menu. Purchases appear in the dock below. Feed your pet by dragging food from the dock, to either the portrait of your pet at the left of your screen, or directly to your pet in your room.
5. What are all the things I can do in my room?
a. Lots and lots! You can buy furniture, and wall/floor coverings in the W Shop and decorate your room exactly how you want it. And you can rearrange that furniture as much as you want. You can make your pet walk, tuck it into bed, sit in chairs and play with toys like the GO FISH GAME. Best of all, there will be new things you can do with your pet every month!
6. My pet code is not working. What can I do?
a. You may have entered it incorrectly. Double check the code on your tag, and if it still isn't working, click on CONTACT US at the bottom of the COME IN AND PLAY window. You can also call Customer Service at 1-866-WEBKINZ (932-5469) in the U.S. and Canada, Monday to Thursday, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, EST., and on Fridays, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, EST.
7. Why can't I click on the NEXT button when I enter my secret code?
a. You may be entering your secret code incorrectly. Double check the code on your tag, and if it still isn't working, click on CONTACT US at the bottom of the COME IN AND PLAY window. You can also call Customer Service at 1-866-WEBKINZ (932-5469) in the U.S. and Canada, Monday to Thursday, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, EST., and on Fridays, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, EST.
8. Besides playing with my pet, what else is there to do in Webkinz World?
a. Lots and lots! Just click on the THINGS TO DO menu. There's games in the Arcade or test your skill at Quizzy's Question Corner. You can shop at the W Shop or check out the latest news at the Webkinz Newz, our very own newspaper. If your pet isn't feeling well, click on the Clinic to visit Dr. Quack. If you have any questions, click on the Webkinz Guide or the question mark in the bottom right, for the Help File..
9. Does my pet sleep?
a. Everyone needs to sleep, including your pet. But everyone also needs a bed. Buy one of our many beds from the W Shop, move it into your room and then just click on it. Your pet will soon be "catching some zees".
10. Why does my pet look sad or sick today?
a. When your pet's Happy, Health or Hunger meters go down, you will see a change in your pet's appearance. You can make your pet happier by playing with it, visiting the Arcade or Quizzy's, buying stuff at the W Shop, or answering surveys. If your pet's health is low, try feeding it something good to eat, especially its own specialty food. If your pet gets really sick, it will have a green snout and thermometer and only a visit to the Clinic will make it feel better.
11. Can I take stuff I've bought back to the W Shop for a refund?
a. Yes, and it's real easy. Use the edit button in the top left of your room to 'remove' any item and place it in the dock. Then open up the W Shop and click on the 'Sell' button in the bottom right corner. Now 'drag' the items you want to sell from the dock into one of the nine boxes. You receive back half of the cost you paid for any item.
12. Can I move or remove stuff from my room?
a. Easily, and as much as you want. Click on the EDIT button in the top left. Click on an item, like a toy or piece of furniture, to open the MOVE window. Click and drag on MOVE, or click the ARROW buttons, to move furniture. Click REMOVE to put any item back into your dock.
13. Can I change the wall paper and floor covering of my room?
a. Yes, by simply buying a new wall or floor covering and putting it over top of the existing one. Unlike furniture, wall or floor coverings cannot be removed from a room. To buy a new wall or floor covering, click on 'Walls and Floors' in the W Shop. You will see wallpapers, paint and floor coverings, most of which match 'themed' lines of furniture. To see what the room might look like, be sure to use the preview button. The new wall or floor coverings will cover the old ones.
14. Why can't I place an outdoor item into my room?
a. Outdoor items can only be put outside in an OUTDOOR YARD. The same holds true for indoor items; they can only be placed in an INDOOR ROOM. All outdoor items can be found in the OUTDOORS category of the W Shop.
15. Which game awards the most Kinzcash?
a. Each game in the Arcade awards different amounts of Kinzcash. The fun is in discovering which one awards the most and which game you're best at. Check out the instructions of any game to find out how much Kinzcash is awarded per point.
16. Is there a way to earn Kinzcash other than the Arcade?
a. Yes, you can also earn Kinzcash by adopting more pets, answering questions at Quizzy's and answering surveys featured in the newspaper.
17. Do certain foods have more affect on the hunger meter?
a. Yes. Just as in real life, eating filling foods like spaghetti will raise your pet's hunger meter more than eating something empty like marshmallows. Be on the look out for special foods for different pet types. They may cost a little more, but they may also nourish your pet more than regular food. You can also look in your pet's bio, located in MY PETS, to find out which food it really likes to eat. This food won't fill the hunger meter any faster, but it will give your pet a happiness boost.
18. What if I don't logout from the site? Will I lose any Kinzcash or Happy, Health or Hunger points?
a. It's always best to logout. If you don't, our computers, for a short time, will think you're not taking care of your Webkinz and you will lose a few Happy, Health and Hunger points. You will never lose Kinzcash. Choose LOGOUT from the Things to Do menu.
19. What is the maximum number of Webkinz that I can login and play with at a time?
a. You can play with every Webkinz that you have adopted. Every Webkinz you buy comes with its own room, but all your Webkinz can play together in the same room at the same time. Just click on MY PETS in the Things to Do menu, CHOOSE a different pet, and move it into any room. You can switch between pets that are in the same room just by clicking on them.
20. How do I get a sticker for my sticker album in Quizzy's?
a. There are two ways to earn stickers. In Learn and Play, stickers are awarded for answering all the questions in a series. There are 50 questions in every series. You can also uncover stickers by answering a month's worth of Daily Trivia questions.
21. Where can I buy more Webkinz?
a. If you're interested in adopting a furry friend, you can check out our online gift shop , or call 1-813-968-8188 in the U.S. or Canada, Monday thru Saturday, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM ET, Sunday 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM ET.
22. Why do I keep getting bumped off the site?
a. If you leave Webkinz World on your computer but don't play with it for 15 minutes, you will automatically be logged off, so your pet doesn't lose any health, hunger or happiness points. To avoid losing any points, it is always better to use the log out function on the Things to Do menu.
If you are being bumped off while you're playing, it could be you're not viewing the latest version of our site and your 'cache' needs to be emptied.
If you are on Internet Explorer, open the 'Tools' menu, select 'Internet Options' and then under Temporary Internet Files in the middle, click 'Delete Files' and the checkbox for 'Delete all offline content'. It is a good idea to 'Delete Cookies', as well.
If you are on Mozilla (FireFox), on the menu, click 'Tools', select 'Options', 'Privacy' and finally 'Clear Cache'.
If you are on Netscape, on the menu, click 'Edit', select 'Preferences', 'Advanced', 'Cache' and finally, press the 'Clear' button.
23. My Friends List in KinzChat isn't working.
a. There are 2 things to do to make both KinzChat and your Friends List work. First, you must go to your room. Then click on the Magic W at the right side of your dock to activate KinzChat and then click YES to open your Friends List. Friends who have activated their KinzChat should appear as 'green faces'. If they haven't, try having your friends feed their pets some food. This sends a message to our servers to update everyone's current status.
24. Why can't I type in whatever I want to say on KinzChat?
a. KinzChat has been designed as a safe and secure way to talk to your friends. KinzChat is constructed chat; you must put together the sentences. With no typing, this means that no one can ever say or suggest anything inappropriate.
25. Can I have some free KinzCash or a Secret Pet Code?
a. Giving out free KinzCash or Secret Pet Codes wouldn't be fair to others who have adopted a Webkinz in order to get access to Webkinz World and all it has to offer. KinzCash is easily earned - check out the KinzCash Tips in the Webkinz Newz.
