DX Series Storage Calculator

These calculations depend on the file size for each recorder picture. The file size can vary with the scene, amount of motion and other factors. The calculations represent averages which may vary from application to application.

When percent of motion is set less than 100%, recording will only occur when motion is detected.

DX3000 Series

Recording frame rate is set system-wide. The number of frames will be divided by the number of active cameras. Therefore, storage time does not vary by number of cameras, what varies is the number of images per second from each camera.

Example: The system is set to 7.5 images/sec on a 60GB hard drive. That means that you will get:
For 1 camera - 7.5 images /sec for this camera for 21 Days
For 9 cameras - 0.83 images per second for each camera (i.e. almost 1 f/s per camera) for 21 days
For 16 cameras - 0.43 images per second for each camera (less than 1 picture every two seconds for each camera) for 21 days.

If the motion detection setting in the Initial Set Up menu is turned ON:
1. Option 30F is not available on the DX3009 models
2. Options 6F, 10F, and 30F are only available on the DX3016 models.
